Background
The Consortium for Humanitarian Service and Education (CHSE) provides intensive hands-on learning opportunities for students and practitioners of international humanitarian response to learn how to conduct safe and effective relief operations.

Event Description
NEW (YORK) HOPE is a civilian-designed and civilian-led exercise that attempts to recreate the challenges and conditions when a humanitarian organization responds to a disaster. The exercise teaches students the basics of triage, first aid, and use of the Incident Command System (ICS). This exercise also provides additional trainings by subject matter experts and gives participants an opportunity to learn leadership and team building in a high stress and austere environment.

Participants
Students from Elmira College, Corning Community College as well as Consortium affiliated institutions have been invited to attend. Participants will be limited to 30 (3 teams of 10)

Cost
The cost of the exercise will be $175 for each participant and $100 for each staff member.
